There are many myths about being a Room Parent. One common myths is that you have to be a full-time parent to become a Room Parent - that is NOT true. Being a successful Room Parent is about coordinating and supporting classroom success and there are many ways to do that. Each teacher appreciates different support levels and with technology and flexibility, you can find the perfect support profile for your class. You don't have to be crafty and it won't consume your life - those are other common myths. There are other parents who are willing to help and the job of the Room Parent is to coordinate that help to support the teacher and students. The PTO serves as a support arm for all Room Parents and we provide tools, tips, shared resources and shared practices to help all classrooms. We also offer a place to work and store things to help you throughout the year. Please download the Room Parent Helpful Tips Guide below to learn more about being a Room Parent at SCES. We have done our best to remove all of the guesswork.
The SCES PTO provides support to the many events and initiatives at our fantastic school. We are always looking for volunteers, donated items and ideas to make every activity special for our amazing students, teachers and staff!
